What Routinely collects, why we collect it, and the control you have over it — for both this website and the Routinely iOS app.
Effective September 2, 2026
The short version
Routinely is a planning app. To do its job it needs to store the plans you make and the account they belong to — and that is essentially all it stores.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics SDKs in the app. There is no profile of you being built and sold somewhere else.
If you would rather read the details, they are all below.
Who we are
Routinely is operated by Routinely Solutions LLC, a California limited liability company.
This policy covers both:
- the Routinely website at getroutinely.app, and
- the Routinely mobile app for iOS.
Where something applies to only one of them, we say so.
What we collect
Account information
When you create a Routinely account in the app, we collect the email address and password you sign up with. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and stored only as a salted hash — we never see or store your actual password.
You can optionally add a display name and a profile photo. The photo is only accessed if you choose one from your device; the app does not browse your photo library on its own.
Your planning content
This is the heart of the product, and it stays yours. It includes the events, tasks, routines, focus sessions, and notes you create in the app, along with the settings that shape your day — such as your rhythms, reminders, and Vacation Mode preferences.
We store this so your plans persist across sessions and devices. We do not mine it, sell it, or use it to build advertising profiles.
Connect
If you use Connect to coordinate with another person, we store the invitation itself and the shared plans you both agree to see. The other person sees only what the shared moment includes — not the rest of your schedule.
Calendar access (optional)
If you grant calendar permission, the app reads events from the device calendars you choose to sync so they can appear alongside your Routinely plans. We only read the calendars you select, and only to display and coordinate your schedule. Routinely does not write to your calendars without your action, and revoking the permission in iOS Settings stops this immediately.
Notifications (optional)
If you enable reminders, we store a push notification token for your device so we can deliver the reminders you asked for. Notifications are delivered through Expo's push service and Apple's Push Notification service. Turning notifications off in iOS Settings stops this.
Device and technical information
Our servers record ordinary technical details needed to operate and secure the service — such as your device and operating system type, app version, and the timestamps of requests. On the website, when you submit the waitlist form, our server records your browser's user-agent string and the referring page for anti-abuse purposes.
The waitlist (website only)
If you join the waitlist on this website, we collect your email address, and your first name if you choose to give it. We use it to tell you when Routinely launches and to send occasional product updates. If you never use the waitlist form, we collect no personal information from your visit to this site.
What we do not collect
To be explicit, because these are the things people reasonably worry about:
- We do not collect your location.
- We do not collect your contacts.
- We do not run third-party advertising SDKs or ad trackers.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs in the app.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not ask for permission to do so.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
How we use what we collect
We use your information only to:
- provide the product — store your plans, sync them to your devices, and show you your day;
- deliver the reminders and notifications you have asked for;
- coordinate the shared moments you set up through Connect;
- keep accounts secure and prevent abuse;
- respond to you when you contact support; and
- tell you about the launch and send product updates, if you joined the waitlist or opted in.
We do not use your planning content for advertising, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that make the product run, and only so they can perform that work for us:
| Provider | What it does | What it can touch |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Authentication and the database that stores your account and plans | Account details and planning content, stored in the United States |
| Expo | Delivers push notifications and app updates | Push notification token, device identifiers |
| Apple | App Store distribution and push delivery | Purchase and delivery data, handled under Apple's own privacy policy |
| RevenueCat | Manages subscription status and entitlements | Purchase events, subscription state, and an app-specific user identifier — not your payment details |
| Vercel | Hosts this website | Standard web server logs |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Routinely, our users, or the public. If Routinely is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may transfer as part of that transaction — and we will say so before it takes effect.
Subscriptions and payments
Routinely does not collect or store your payment card details. If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is handled by Apple through the App Store under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. Your card number never reaches us.
We use RevenueCat to keep track of whether a subscription is active. When you purchase, renew, or cancel, RevenueCat receives the purchase event and an app-specific identifier for your account, and tells us which features you are entitled to. That is the extent of it — RevenueCat does not receive your payment details, and we do not use it for advertising.
If you delete your account, we delete the subscription records we hold. Apple and RevenueCat may retain transaction records under their own legal and fraud-prevention obligations, and cancelling a subscription is done in your Apple ID settings.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information and planning content for as long as your account exists, because that is what makes the product work.
When you delete your account, we delete your account record and your planning content. Waitlist entries are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. We may retain limited records where the law requires it, and backups may persist for a short period before they cycle out.
Deleting your account
You can delete your Routinely account and its data at any time from within the app, in your account settings. You can also email us at support@getroutinely.app and we will delete it for you.
Deleting your account removes your plans, your profile, and your connections. It cannot be undone.
Your rights and choices
Whatever privacy law applies where you live, we will honor these requests:
- Access — ask what personal information we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to fix something that is wrong.
- Deletion — ask us to delete your information.
- Portability — ask for an export of your data.
- Withdraw consent — turn off calendar access or notifications in iOS Settings at any time, or unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email we send.
If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you these rights explicitly, plus the right not to be discriminated against for using them. We will never treat you differently for exercising a privacy right. Because we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
To make any request, email support@getroutinely.app. We may need to verify that the request is really coming from you before we act on it.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with our providers' encryption at rest. Access to production data is restricted. On your device, session credentials are held in the operating system's secure storage.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.
Where your data is stored
Our infrastructure providers store data in the United States. If you use Routinely from outside the United States, you are sending your information to be processed there.
Children
Routinely is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email support@getroutinely.app and we will delete it.
Cookies
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It may use strictly necessary cookies that come with the hosting platform and web framework — the kind required to serve pages reliably. The Routinely app does not use cookies.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date, and — where the change is significant — tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Routinely after a change takes effect means the updated policy applies.
